About Quest Alaska
Overview
Quest Alaska (Quest Ministries) is led by a group of adventurous believers. We aim to spread the Good News across the state of Alaska with the aid of partner local churches, the community, and mission teams from all over. We have a passion for the people of Alaska and have a desire to share Christ with His people.
Founding Verse
“Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” – Matthew 22:37-39
Vision Statement
To see lives transformed and communities renewed with wholehearted love for God and selfless love for others – reflecting the heart of Jesus in how we live, serve, and make disciples.
Mission Statement
In obedience with the great commission we proclaim the gospel, encouraging believers to live boldly for Christ while reaching the lost through park ministry and being intentional with all our outreach ministries in Alaska.
Statement of Beliefs
Each member of the Board of Directors, staff member, crew, and volunteer, subscribes to the following statement of beliefs:
- We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative, and inerrant Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21).
- We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30).
- We believe in:
- The deity of Christ (John 10:33),
- His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:35),
- His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15; 7:26),
- His miracles (John 2:11),
- His vicarious and atoning death (1 Corinthians 15:3; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 2:9),
- His Resurrection (John 11:25; 1 Corinthians 15:4),
- His Ascension to the right hand of God (Mark 16:19), and
- His personal return in power and glory (Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11).
- We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation, because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature; that men are justified only by faith in the shed blood of Christ; and that only by God’s grace and through faith alone are we saved (John 3:16–19, 5:24; Romans 3:23, 5:8–9; Ephesians 2:8–10; Titus 3:5).
- We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. Those who are saved receive eternal life and those who are lost receive eternal condemnation (John 5:28–29).
- We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 2:12–13; Galatians 3:26–28).
- We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Romans 8:13–14; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19–20; Ephesians 4:30, 5:18).
- We believe that from the beginning of creation, God has uniquely designed and specifically instituted marriage as a covenant solely between one man and one woman (Gen. 2:18, 20-24) and that each person was wonderfully created as male or female (Genesis 1:27, Psalm 139:14, Ephesians 2:10)
Core Values
Christ-Centered
We keep Jesus at the heart of everything we do, letting His Word and Spirit guide our steps. We seek to think, speak, and act in ways that reflect the heart of Christ. We measure success by faithfulness to Jesus, not by numbers or applause.
Servant Leadership
We lead by example, humbly serving those we reach and those that serve alongside us. From the unseen tasks to the spotlight moments, we lead by serving.
Love Others
From first hellos to lifelong friendships, we build relationships that point people to Jesus. Our ministry depends on building positive relationships with all those we encounter.
Proclaim the Gospel
We communicate God’s Word clearly, faithfully, and with courage. We proclaim the Gospel boldly, never compromising on God’s Word.
Unity in Mission
We pursue God’s work in partnership with other people and other ministries, honoring integrity, transparency, and accountability in all we do.
Adapt in Faith
We embrace roadblocks, and pivot (pathways, not principles) when needed to serve effectively. We experiment, innovate, and try new ways to reach others, trusting God to guide our efforts.
Steps to Salvation
Each person has sinned against God (Romans 3:23), deserves to be separated eternally from God (Romans 6:23), and is in need of a Savior.
We believe that the only requirement for salvation is faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior (Acts 16:30–31).
While we believe baptism, works, public confession, spiritual gifts, and tithing play important roles in a Christ-centered life, we do not believe they play any direct role in salvation.
